In 1990, a fost invitat sa faca parte din comitetul consultativ al British Government’s Know‑How Fund, implicandu‑se activ in aspectele romanesti ale activitatii acestuia; pentru aceasta contributie i s‑a decernat Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1995.
